Mermaid's Purse

My Mermaid's Purse was inspired by Mermaid's Treasure (see post of December 13, 2011). It is a crazy quilt evening bag measuring 3.5" by 5". It will carry a credit card, cell phone, lipstick and car keys. Perfect for that night on the town! The bag is hand embroidered and beaded with fresh water pearls and sea shells I collected on the beaches of Trinidad.

Arrived safely today. I have been carrying it around admiring it because it is so beautiful. I love the back of the card also. The mat makes it perfect. I looked up Sam Lord's Castle in Barbados. It was sad to read about the sale of the property & ultimately the fire which destroyed it. I haven't seen images of the caves, but they must be online somewhere. I must also confess that I didn't know exactly what a limpet was, so your art has not only been beautiful, but instructive. Thank you again. Good luck to you. I love your store.
